This is a journey of Sumatra, Yogyakarta, Komodo Island and Bali.
We being this epic adventure in Medan and take an overnight rest before we head off to UNESCO World Heritage listed Gunung Leuser National Park.
This park is home to a variet of wild plants, birds and mammals - and it is here where we will search for the orangutan in their natural habitat.
Highlights of this tour include:-
SAMOSIR ISLAND - one of the largest islands in the world set on an island!! A volcanic island rich in heritage and a laid back atmosphere. Ancient stone tombs and white washed churches are scattered across this island.
We will visit the village of Toba - famous for its collection of stone chairs set in a circle representing the court of law where in ancient times, the village allegedly practices a form of canibalism.
YOGYAKARTA - Here we will visit the famous temples of Borobudur and Prambanan.
Borobudur temple is the world's larges buddhist monument - which has survived 1200 yrs of man-made and natural disasters.
Prambanan is the largest of the Hindu temples in Indonesia - once home to over 240 temples but most are now in ruin but this is still a sight to behold.
BALI - here we visit Ubud Monkey Forest - more than 700 monkeys and over 186 species of trees.
Gunung Kati - the ancient Hindu temple.
Pura Lempuyang Luhur - founded in the 11thC.
Balinese Life Experience - here we practice some rice cultivation using traditional tools and enjoy some other rural activities of a real life village.
Komodo Island and Pink Beach - we will visit and stay on the island with over 4000 native Komodo dragons - the world's largest living lizard.
